Instant Confidence

Natural Confidence, that little something that we desire and that many of my clients look for in our coaching sessions.

This is the natural confidence of those comfortable in their own skin, those that seem to have an acceptance of who they are regardless of what goes on around them.

I feel everyone has moments in which they are comfortable with themselves, maybe when they at home sharing moments with those that love you no matter what, or in a private instant with yourself in which you find that much needed direction…..And these moments can be mapped down to any situation.

It is about being honest with yourself, accepting yourself and loving yourself.

My question to you is: If you were to feel a bit more confident than you feel right now, how would you be sitting? How would you be speaking? What would your inner voice say to you?

Just by mentally answering these questions and fine tuning a few things you would feel more confident.

This is what I found, while searching on the internet, for those things that come up as the ones to help generate more confidence in each of us:

1- Creating pictures in your mind (visualization).

2- Emulating and studing confident people.

3- Practice positive thinking. (Not fake it until you make it, but real positive thinking)

4- Getting motivated by goal setting.

When I work with clients around the issues on generating more confidence in our own capabilities, abilities, and talents, we work on the following issues:

1- Give yourself the chance to be really honest about what you really want to do in your life.

2- Give yourself permission to do what you really want to do.

Many of my clients come to me and say: What about if you do not know what you really want to do?

This is when you can really benefit from working with a coach as sometimes it is easier to speak about these things with someone that is not going to judge you.

Richard Branson in a recent conference was photographed on his knees cleaning a guy’s shoes because he had never flown with Virgin and Richard asked him, What will it take

for you to fly with us? Mr. Branson is someone that is not out there to prove anything, he is out there to have some fun and really feels passionate about what he does. Many would think that this

is easy when you are so rich but the truth is that happiness leads to success and not success to happiness. Confidence comes as a result.

Bruce Springsteen was ones asked in an interview if he got nervous before a concert, he answered:  No, Never.

The interviewer was surprised and asked him: How come, what happens before you go on stage?

Bruce Springsteen answered: Oh my hands start sweating, my heart starts racing, sweat trickles down my forehead….and then I know that I am pumped and ready to go on stage.

Bruce goes through what everyone else does but he calls it something different. How would you reframe your nervousness?

Have fun developing your newly found confidence!
